Elisa Nalin-The Quirky Stylist

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Elisa Nalin is a Verona native, studying humanities and arts before moving to Milan to continue her studies in fashion design at the Instituto Europeo del Design.  After graduation she was immediately offered a position at Costume National and then subsequently, the Creative Director role at Samsonite, spearheading their shoe line.  Having grown tired of Milan, she decided to make a "fresh" start in Paris as a stylist.  She has since styled editorial spreads for i-D, Dazed and Confused and Vogue Nippon, as well as campaigns for notable brands such as La Perla and Benetton.

I love her mix of textures, prints, and high/low pieces, many of which she sources from Parisian flea markets.  Her quirky personal style, contagious smile and brains make her a visible figure in the fashion industry.

Happy New Year!

I'm not a huge fan of New Year's Eve, mainly due to the fact that I feel an inherent pressure to do something grandiose, and in turn, somehow, the evening ends up being somewhat lackluster in its entirety.  So this year, I'm debating whether to follow in years past, and spend money on attending an overpriced sponsored soiree, sitting at home in my pajamas, feeling sorry for myself because my boyfriend's in England, watching the Sex and the City movie for the upteenth time, or going somewhere warm, and basking in the sun's radiant glow.  Although, it doesn't sound this way (see kveching above), I'm very excited to bring in a new year and am optimistic for what's in store!

How will you be ringing in the New Year?
