Elisa Nalin-The Quirky Stylist

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Elisa Nalin is a Verona native, studying humanities and arts before moving to Milan to continue her studies in fashion design at the Instituto Europeo del Design.  After graduation she was immediately offered a position at Costume National and then subsequently, the Creative Director role at Samsonite, spearheading their shoe line.  Having grown tired of Milan, she decided to make a "fresh" start in Paris as a stylist.  She has since styled editorial spreads for i-D, Dazed and Confused and Vogue Nippon, as well as campaigns for notable brands such as La Perla and Benetton.

I love her mix of textures, prints, and high/low pieces, many of which she sources from Parisian flea markets.  Her quirky personal style, contagious smile and brains make her a visible figure in the fashion industry.

TGIF-Let's Hit The Streets in Milan!

Friday, November 23, 2012

Milan is one of the most fashion conscious cities in the world.  Notable designers including: Missoni, Versace and Gucci curate collections that exude femininity and sex appeal, representing the women who inhabit this culturally rich city. Italian designers, historically, were heavily influenced by cinematic American starlets, creating the glamorous yet relaxed aesthetic that you still see permeating the scene today.

Have a great weekend! xx

Fashion Power Player-Eleonora Carisi

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Eleonora Carisi is Milan's fashion "It" girl and is heavily touted in Italy's premiere fashion and lifestyle publication, Grazia.  Hailing from Turin, Eleonora conceived JouJouVilleroy in 2004, one of the most trafficked blogs in Italy, and opened You You, a concept store featuring independent artists's work in 2006.  She is known for her daring style, drawing criticism last year for wearing a sheer polka dot tulle top deemed too risque by some.  She takes risks and doesn't apologize for pushing the envelope. Eleonora is a personal style inspiration and an emerging international icon.
