TGIF-Let's Hit the Streets in Lisbon!

Lisbon is the capital city as well as the largest city in Portugal. It's known for it's deep cultural roots, gold,  and stunning architectural design.  The streets are lined with fashion forward felines, donning mixed prints, fur coats and black boots, which seem to be a staple for the city's hip.  Cruise down to the Chiado quarter where you will find international brands as well as modern retailers.  Or, if you prefer independently crafted goods, make sure to stop by the Feira da Ladra flea market, where you will find antique and contemporary hand-painted tiles, distinctive regional ceramics and textiles.  Want to avoid the crowds that other European capitals seem to garner year around?  Then visit Lisbon!

Solange Knowles, baby sister of Beyonce, but a star in her own right, is a fashionista whose experimental style I aim to emulate.  Her love of mixed afrocentric prints, color and statement accessories make her an attractive face for contemporary clothing companies.  In 2012, she landed her first major clothing campaign with Madewell, the less conservative sister store of J. Crew.  Her funky, laid-back aesthetic was a harmonious match for this emerging retail chain and the experience cemented Solange's recognition in the fashion world. We will be hearing a lot more from this Brooklyn-based quadruple threat (singer, dancer, actress, DJ) in the future!
