Sun Bum

I am dreaming of palm trees, magnificent sunshine, and a luxurious pool to frolic in.  Good news is...I am about to jet off to LaLa Land in a few hours. Above, are some essentials for the pool.  Notice the 70 SPF?  #fairskinpeopleproblems

Tastemaker-Yasmin Sewell

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Australian entrepreneur and visionary, Yasmin Sewell runs a London-based retail, lifestyle and fashion consultancy.  She began her career at the youthful age of 22, working in New York City for acclaimed fashion editorial, Harper's Bazaar, before migrating into the retail space.  She moved to London and opened a revolutionary concept store that was at the forefront of 90's fashion and introduced famed designers such as Rick Owens and Pierre Hardy to the public.  Her success in the industry was well-noted and in 2005 she was approached to take the reigns at the world famous Browns department store.  During her time as Buying Director, she discovered notable designers like: Christopher Kane, Nicholas Kirkwood and Acne.  She personally pushed for Acne's presence in the European market and is largely credited for their massive success.  In 2008, she opened her own consulting agency where she continues to introduce influential brands, forge retail partnerships and conceptualize creative destination shopping experiences.  Tastemaker, savvy business woman, and conceptual genius...Yasmin is an industry powerhouse!

Alexa Chung-SF Shop Girl's "IT" Girl of 2012!

Sunday, December 30, 2012

I thought it would be apropos to end the year, with a feature on my personal fashion inspiration and the Style Award winner at the British Fashion Awards for 2012, Alexa Chung.  I started blogging in 2010, mainly because I was so enamored with Alexa's effortless style, incomparable beauty, and 'I don't give a f**k', attitude towards fashion.  Let the haters hate.  She's parlayed her status as an "icon" into lucrative partnership deals with such notable brands as: Acne, Maje and Madewell, as well as a coveted contributing editor position at British Vogue.  She's incredibly savvy, seeing herself as a marketable brand, and not jeopardizing that by getting into trouble or being seen out with the "wrong" people.   I celebrate her celebrity, because she's influential without being pretentious and is self-depricating, authentic and isn't a slave to trends.  Let's face it...I wish I were her!  All kidding aside...SHE ROCKS!

TGIF-Let's Hit the Streets in London!

Friday, November 16, 2012

What can I say I have an affinity for London, England.  My bloke is English, dresses pretty smart, and is fit to boot!  Okay... all British slang aside, London's fashion culture has got it going on.  Originality is king and different modes of dress are blended together to create a fun, sometimes avant garde aesthetic.  Londoners are purveyors of the street style movement and unlike New York and Paris, seem to effortlessly blend sport & street wear with high fashion.  "Bob's Your Uncle" (And there you have it!)

Have a great weekend! :)

xx
