TGIF-Let's Hit The Streets in Brooklyn!

Friday, December 21, 2012

Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the unofficial "hipster" capital of the world, attracts a certain subculture, including artistic influencers and technological entrepreneurs.  Brooklyn's fashion aesthetic can be surmised as a mixture of bohemian, punk and grunge, representative of the inhabitants, who are experimental, creative and supportive of community driven endeavors.  If you plan on visiting this bustling borough, be sure to stop by Cloth, Saffron, Stem,  The Brooklyn Flea, &  Dossier for inspiring independent finds.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend & turn up the volume to hear the song accompanied by the slideshow!

Natalie Joos-Play on Patterns Perfection!

Saturday, December 1, 2012

Natalie Joos's ingenious play on patterns and mix of vintage and couture makes her, in my book, one of the most enviable stylists in the industry.  Coming to NY, by way of Belgium, she has perspicacity into the business,  having been a model, journalist and now, casting director.  She also recently revived her blog, Tales of Endearment, imparting her loyal followers with personal stories about friends, love, life, style and vintage finds. She exudes self-possession and doesn't accommodate trends or ageist ideals that are palpable in the industry. She's never been one to blend in and neither have I...that's why I can relate to her quirky interpretation of fashion!

I tip my hat to you

Caps are all the rage right now, and I'm totally on board with this trend.  Not only are they androgynous and hip, they also assist in camouflaging unruly hair!  Check out E Cap City for some rad custom fit hats.
