Let's Get Personal-Always Judging

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Courtney of Always Judging is a BADASS style blogger and fledging famous fashionista! I've been following her on Instagram for over a year, before she even started blogging, because I was in awe of her ability to marry different elements of style in a seamless yet meticulous way.  Not to mention her closet is beyond enviable, she resides in sunny southern California, and is the epitome of "cool". In a matter of months, Courtney has catapulted herself into the spotlight, being featured in publications such as: Who What Wear, Intermix, and Racked LA

I was thrilled to interview her recently about projects she pursuing in the future, dream collaborations, and when she plans to head north, to San Francisco. See what she had to say!

Interview with Jewelry Designer, Ariel Gordon

Thursday, May 2, 2013

I live in the quaint little enclave of Hayes Valley and often take jaunts to my favorite boutiques, including Rand+Statler and Azaela, to browse their selection of taste makers.  There was one particular jewelry designer who always caught my eye because of her timeless productions and minimalist yet feminine aesthetic.  Ariel Gordon has virtually achieved overnight success since the launch of her self-titled brand in 2009, and she attributes some of that to her mentor and friend, Maya Brenner, whom she assisted for nearly five years before completely branching out on her own.  I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Ariel, and I can assure you she is as gracious and humble as she is talented.  We discussed how she converted her interest into a viable business, her "I've made it" moment, and what keeps the creativity flowing.

WE WORE WHAT-Q&A With Style Ingenuity, Danielle Bernstein

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Fashion blog WE WORE WHAT was created by New York City dweller and style genius, Danielle Bernstein.  Danielle's original idea for WE WORE WHAT was to document young purveyors of New York's street style scene.  Her photographic musings gained notoriety and her popularity garnered her the chance to shoot at New York Fashion Week.   Ironically, she ended up being shot by many notable photographers, and largely due to this experience, concluded that her personal style resonated more with readers.  So, she changed focus, and has developed a burgeoning following as well as actualized her interest in fashion, into a viable business.  Not only is Danielle smart, but she's extremely endearing, humble and supportive of fellow bloggers. She speaks to the 'everyday' gal, seamlessly pairing vintage, designer and mid-range pieces that are accessible and wearable.

She spoke with SF Shop Girl about her style inspirations, her dream collaboration and offered sound advice  to other aspiring fashion bloggers.

It was such a pleasure to be able to interview her.  Check out what she had to say...

Inspirare-An Incubator For a new generation of fashion

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

"People's minds are not limited by competition; they are liberated by innovation." - Sean Peng, founder of Inspirare

Inspirare.  If you don't know about it, and you have any affinity for independent fashion labels, you should.  I had the pleasure of meeting Sean Peng, founder of Inspirare, at an Open House they hosted a couple of weeks back.  He struck me as outgoing, poised, professional, but above all, passionate.  It was inspiring to talk to Sean, to learn about the conception of Inspirare, the highs and lows of running a start-up, and what he thinks about San Francisco's re-emerging fashion community.

I hope you enjoy our Q&A and if you want to purchase any of Inspirare's current designs, visit their online SHOP!
